Why the handling charge?
 
We do not carry lines of products that traditionally share the cost of storing, sorting, cataloging, and advertising the item you’re interested in.  The item is the only one of its kind that we have, so it must pay for itself.  We recognize that our price must be feasible to you if we are to make the sale.  At the same time, the only feasible way for us to make the item available to you is to ask a price that is equivalent to our cost of making it available to you.  We operate for instances where buyers have justification to absorb this type of cost.  It could be, for instance, that you want a particular Kodak camera to complete a stage setting – and, in turn, the stage setting will bring you revenue – but will do so only if you have the right props; and the particular camera happens to be the one called for.
